The La Bassine Original is a compact birthing pool; however, its oval shape provides ample space to adopt various birthing positions. The pool features two handles inside to assist the pregnant woman in pushing through contractions. The air used to inflate the pool is distributed across two separate air chambers (bottom and rim). Thanks to the vertical air chambers on the rim, the pool has the additional advantage of providing support to lean on, unlike pools with horizontal air chambers. The pool can be inflated in just 10 minutes using an electric pump, and filling it with water takes approximately 45 minutes.

Pool liner
To ensure the desired hygiene, a new pool liner must be used for each delivery. This cover lines the inside of the La Bassine birthing pool, clever protrusions are incorporated into the cover to fit the various handles neatly.
Birthing liners can be ordered per 1 or 5 pieces.
Cleaning
Thoroughly cleaning the pool after each birth requires a lot of effort and is not necessary. However, it is advised to wipe down the tub after each use and to use a personal birthing liner for each new patient. The pool can be cleaned with an approved detergent. It’s best to avoid using harsh cleaning products as they may adhere to the PVC.
